With quality fruit and farming driving the creation of our wines, here is a look at some of our vineyards as they relate to our wines.
Peters Vineyard (Russian River Valley Chardonnay & Peters Reserve Pinot Noir)
In the early 1980’s, grower Randy Peters began to slowly plant this vineyard to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, one of the first plantings of these two varietals in the area. Located just seven miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, this vineyard lays where the Russian River, Green Valley, and Sonoma Coast AVA’s meet. This sought after vineyard combination of Goldridge sandy loam soil, Southern sun exposure, and cool foggy coastal influence help create wines of intense flavor, with great minerality and bright acidity.
Graham Family Vineyard (Graham Family Reserve Pinot Noir)
Farmed by Charlie Chenoweth, this vineyard is a highly sought after gem of the Green Valley. Located in the Northeastern corner of the region, which is one of the coolest and most perfect areas to grow Pinot Noir. Also rooted in the well drained Gold Ridge Sandy Loam, these vines receive the perfect sun exposure for delicate and elegant fruit.
Glen Oaks Vineyards (Sonoma County Cabernet)
The Glen Oaks Ranch, located in the Sonoma Valley and adjacent to the town of Glen Ellen, is home to our Sonoma County Cabernet. This historic ranch can trace its roots back to 1862 and has a rich history encompassing Ellen Stuart, the towns’ namesake and a pre-eminent pioneer woman winemaker. Second and third generation farmers Clarence and Isaac Jenkins farm the ranch, which has the unique distinction of being on the National Register of Historic Places. The perfect combination of soil, aspect, and temperature allow for beautifully structured Cabernets with great aromatics and the ability to age gracefully.
Tollini Vineyards (Redwood Valley Syrah, Petite Sirah, & RAJA Cuvee)
Located in Mendocino County’s Redwood Valley and organically farmed by Alvin Toillini, this vineyard is the source of our Syrah, Petit Sirah and Rhone Blend “RAJA”. Long known for its distinct soil types, characterized by intense red color, alluvial clay and loam coupled with a temperature that is cooler than other parts of Mendocino, Tollini Vineyards is an ideal location for grape-growing, allowing for a long growing season and desirable balance in the wines.
Adams Vineyard (Zinfandel)
This vineyard is located in the NW corner of Dry Creek Valley. Our block is adjacent to “Lily Hill Vineyard”. From the first plantings in 1915 to the blocks planted in 2001, this sloping, hillside vineyard benefits from cool nights and hot days adding intensity and depth to the fruit.
